Last updated: March 1, 2026

1Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Curio. By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our platform.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Curio. We may update these terms from time to time, and your continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Please review these terms periodically.

2Use of Service

Curio provides a visual exploration platform including a curated gallery, pattern categories, learning resources, and a community submission system. You may use our services for personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes subject to these terms.

When using our platform, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information when creating an account or submitting content.
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials and notify us immediately of any unauthorised access.
  • Use the platform in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Refrain from attempting to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the integrity or security of the platform.
  • Not use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or collect data from the platform without our written permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we determine that you have violated these terms or engaged in behaviour that is harmful to our community or platform.

3User Content

You are solely responsible for any content you upload, submit, post, or otherwise make available through the platform ("User Content"). By providing User Content, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own the content or have the necessary rights, licences, and permissions to use and share it.
  • Your content does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any third party.
  • Your content does not contain unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable material.

We do not claim ownership of your User Content. However, by submitting content to Curio, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with operating and promoting the platform.

4Intellectual Property

The Curio platform, including its design, logo, text, graphics, software, and all other content created by us, is protected by intellectual property laws and is the property of Curio or its licensors.

You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on our proprietary content without our express written consent. The Curio name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks of Curio and may not be used without permission.

Note: Content submitted by users remains the intellectual property of the original creator. See our Submissions Policy below for details on how submitted content is handled.

5Submissions Policy

Our submissions process allows creators to share their visual work with the Curio community. By submitting content through our platform, you agree to the following:

  • You retain full copyright and ownership of all submitted works.
  • You grant Curio a non-exclusive, revocable licence to display, feature, and promote your work on our platform, social media channels, and promotional materials.
  • All submitted works are subject to our curatorial review process. We reserve the right to decline any submission at our discretion.
  • You may request the removal of your submitted content at any time by contacting us. We will process removal requests within 14 business days.
  • We will always provide appropriate credit and attribution for displayed submissions.

We will never sell, sub-licence, or commercially exploit your submissions without your explicit written consent, which would be governed by a separate agreement.

6Disclaimer

The Curio platform and all its content and services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content on the platform, including user-submitted content and learning materials.

Any reliance you place on information obtained through the platform is strictly at your own risk. Educational content provided on Curio is for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional advice.

7Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Curio and its directors, employees, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the platform.

Our total liability for any claims arising under these terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

8Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer residing in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

9Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms of Service at any time. When we make material changes, we will provide notice through the platform and, where possible, via email to registered users at least 30 days before the changes take effect.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these terms were last revised. Your continued use of the platform following any changes constitutes your binding acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you must stop using the platform.
